American Families Plan

Families for San Francisco was proud to support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 Presidential Election. Now, we’re seeing their administration lead for families and our recovery.

Yesterday President Biden announced his American Families Plan, which is major legislation to support our families recover from this pandemic. The American Families Plan will:

• Create two years of free early childhood education.

• Expand nutrition assistance for children.

• Give direct support to low and middle-income families to make sure that they are not spending more than 7% of their income on child care.

• Provide Americans two free years of community college.

• Invest $1 billion towards maternal healthcare.

• Extend tax cuts to families with children.

• Create a comprehensive paid family leave program.

• Invest in making college more affordable for low and middle-income families.

Families are an integral part of our nation, and our recovery depends on investment in families. President Biden and his administration are delivering. Families for San Francisco is glad to see the president move forward with this historic plan.
