State of California Declares SFUSD Financially Unstable and Intervenes to Take Control
On September 15, 2021, the California Department of Education issued a letter to San Francisco Unified preemptively determining that the district is not financially stable enough to meet its obligations and continue its business for the foreseeable future.

We are disappointed with UESF’s decision to spread political falsehood yesterday. Families for San Francisco’s membership is open, and we only accept donations from individual donors. Our average donation is less than $100, and we do not accept donations from interest groups or PACs. This has been true since the organization was formed in August 2020.
